Lucky Dip — Sari Silk Ribbon Cakes
This lucky dip pack contains our popular sari silk ribbon in various colored cakes. Each pack is a different dip consisting of 4 cakes.
This pack helps your creativity as you craft with new and different colors! Perfect for tapestry weavers and fiber artists who don't need a lot of one color, but use many in their fiber art.
Our Sari Silk Ribbon is created from the remnants of sari silk production in India. The silk remnants are torn into thin strips approximately ½ to 1 inch wide. The thin strips are knotted or sewn together to make a continuous strand of ribbon. The ribbon is then wound into a skein and hand dyed. This ribbon is dyed in small batches, colorways can vary.
The Sari Silk Ribbon industry utilizes home co-operatives to provide a sustainable income for rural Indian communities. The co-operatives ensure that the craftspeople are earning a living wage to meet basic needs and discretionary income.
You can be certain that our Sari Silk Ribbon is an eco-friendly and ethical artisan ribbon. The co-operative we work with is ISO 8000 certified, which is a Social Responsibility Certification. It means child labor is not allowed, no forced or compulsory labor, health and safety of the workers is carefully monitored, no discrimination, and the right to a living wage.
This listing includes four cakes of sari silk ribbon. Each cake is approximately 15 yards of ribbon.
